What To Know About Compliance
South Dakota is accepting applications to license medical cannabis facilities on a rolling basis. If the city or county has a limited number of licenses, the application must be submitted by November 1, 2021 or December 30, 2021 depending on local restrictions.
What Kind of Marijuana Establishment Licenses will be available?
The department will issue licenses to establishments according to the administrative ruling still under development. The department will have these rules established by October 29, 2021, for the state. Additional requirements may be established at a local level.
What Is The Fee for a Medical Marijuana Establishment in South Dakota?
The fee for an application is $5,000 and require standard operating procedures that reference the state enacted rule.

Sales Limitations
The proposed legal limit for the possession of cannabis is 3 ounces of flower, or the equivalent as defined by the table below.

No cardholder may possess more than four grams of concentrated cannabis with a THC content of greater than 60 percent and in smokable form however, vaporizer products are excluded from this limit.
