While voters have already made recreational marijuana legal up and down the West Coast, from Alaska to California, Canada is expected to become only the second nation to completely legalize pot on July 1, 2018. Such a big move would be all but certain to produce spillover effects in the United States.

Massachusetts allows for home growing of marijuana.

Home growing is becoming a big business in Massachusetts. At NECANN vendors were selling light kits, grow tents, soil and cultivation kits which can run from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars.

In Massachusetts, it’s still illegal to sell marijuana without a license. The law sets the limit on how many plants you can grow at six, or a maximum of 12 if there’s two people in the house. The plants must also be under lock and key and must be grown in your primary residence.

Mexico’s lower house approves medical uses of marijuana – The Washington Post

Mexico’s lower house overwhelmingly passed a bill Friday approving the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes, the latest in a series of legal changes and court rulings that have somewhat relaxed cannabis laws in Mexico.

The measure does not allow smoking marijuana, but directs the Health Department to “design public policies to regulate the medicinal use of this plant and its derivatives.”

PA Marijuana applicants waiting on state’s OK

California regulations for medical marijuana

Lori Ajax, chief of the Bureau of Medical Cannabis Regulation and her team have now produced detailed medical marijuana regulations for distributors, transporters, laboratories and retailers. The state to produce the 58-page document released Friday. California regulations for medical marijuana have been released according to a popular online weed resource, The Cannifornian,

The 211 pages of regulations lay out standards for any marijuana business that wants to get licensed by the state, with rules for how big weed farms can be, what pesticides they can use, what packaging for edibles must look like and more.

Meanwhile, the Department of Public Health has been crafting 95 pages of rules for companies that manufacture cannabis products, such as edibles and concentrates. And the Department of Food and Agriculture has been drafting regulations for the state’s thousands of marijuana cultivators.

PA releases name of Seed to Sale Software and names of Dispensary Applicants

The Department of Health has revealed a few new details on the lengthy rollout of its medical marijuana program. The names of dozens of potential dispensaries have been released, though officials won’t say where exactly they’ll be located. The deadline to apply for licenses to grow or sell marijuana was March 20th.

On 4/20 the Department of Health announced that the Department of Health selected MJ Freeway to implement the seed-to-sale electronic tracking system for Pennsylvania’s Medical Marijuana Program. This was a little surprising as MJ Freeway has struggled to implement it’s only state contract with Nevada. MJ Freeway also experienced a major security breach in early 2017, loosing thousands of business and customer records.
