Cleveland, Ohio allows for cultivation only while suburb city bans grow, processing and dispensaries

CLEVELAND, Ohio – City Council voted Monday to roll back a moratorium on the cultivation of marijuana for medical purposes, a step viewed as necessary to avoid shutting Cleveland out of a potentially lucrative source of taxes.

 

According to Cleveland.com. Meanwhile, a Cincinnati suburb banned marijuana businesses explaining allowing the production and distribution would send mixed messages on their efforts to address the opiate crisis.

Fairfield City Council has recently unanimously voted to ban all aspects of Ohio’s medical marijuana legislation, except for testing (the legislation does not allow us to ban this aspect).

We felt it would be an inconsistent message to our youth and the general public to preach avoidance of marijuana, and then allow it into Fairfield in any form.

Maryland Court Grants Stay in Medical Marijuana Case | Maryland News | US News

Maryland’s highest court on Friday agreed to hear arguments from attorneys who represent finalists for licenses to grow medical marijuana. The attorneys say their clients should be allowed to intervene in a legal case that seeks to block a state commission from awarding any more licenses until a lawsuit is resolved.
