Medical Marijuana in Maryland
In 2014, Maryland passed a workable medical marijuana law, which allows qualifying patients to possess up to a 30-day supply of medical marijuana and allows licensed dispensaries to distribute medical marijuana grown by a licensed cultivators. The Natalie M. LaPrade Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission has developed Maryland Medical Cannabis regulations to implement a program that ensure medical cannabis is available to qualifying patients in a safe and effective manner.
Adult Use Marijuana in Maryland
Marylanders have voted via ballot referendum to make cannabis use legal in the state for adults 21 and over. Much of the new law will take effect July 1, 2023. According to the new law, beginning on July 1, 2023, adults 21 or older may possess and consume cannabis for personal use.
