Arizona voters approved medical marijuana through a ballot initiative in 2010. The passing of Proposition 203 (the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act (AMMA), A.R.S. §36-2801 et seq) made Arizona the fifteenth state to legalize medical marijuana. The AMMA went into effect on April 14, 2011.
