On April 19, 2017, Senate Bill 386 was signed into law by Governor Jim Justice. Senate Bill 386 created the Medical Cannabis Act that allows for cannabis to be used for certified medical use by a West Virginia resident with a serious medical condition. The Office of Medical Cannabis in West Virginia requires the use of a seed to sale software for the tracking of all medicated product. The law only allows the use and distribution of medical marijuana through specific forms.
